Twitter video ads push anti‑Qatar propaganda

British social media users are being bombarded with anti-Qatar propaganda adverts paid for by secretive campaign groups.

Slick videos accusing the Arab country of funding terrorism and mistreating overseas workers are being pushed into the newsfeeds of thousands of Twitter users in the UK.

The “promoted” films have been posted by two groups, Qatar Exposed and Kick Qatar Out, neither of which have websites and whose Twitter accounts were created within minutes of each other earlier this month.

Qatarexposed.org, a site set up by trade unionists in 2015 to highlight poor working conditions, appears to have no connection to the Twitter account.
